Current Projects

If blogger will be so kind, I'm trying to upload pictures of my current scrap projects. I think I'm actually building steam to start over on that afghan again, too, mainly because I'm running out of yarn to use, and I don't have money to get more. If I do start it, I will use Elaine's trick of counting the stitches in every row for awhile until I know I'm doing it right. All 172 stitches. Phew. That might be interesting. The upside is that I'd have a completed Christmas present for next year all ready! That sure would be convenient come Christmas time!

In the meantime, these smaller projects keep me fascinated! I think I like granny squares because I can complete them. What's more I can complete more than one in a given crochet session. I like the feeling of accomplishment that they bring. And unlike my mother, I don't like they're ugly. In fact, give the right yarn I think they're kind of nice-looking.
This is the one-square-scrap afghan that I'm working on. It's rather obviously a work in progress. But I'm rather fond of it so far! Although I'm noting as it gets bigger, I may actually have to purchase some yarn to complete it - so much for the scrap part!
These are my granny square scraps (for smaller amounts of scrap yarn). Once I have enough of these I will put them together to make one large afghan. I don't know how beautiful either of these projects will turn out, but I'm having an awful lot of fun with them.

I really like them! I like making granny squares too, but I loath stitching them together. Hopefully you like it more than I do. I usually am very patient with knitting and crochet. I don't mind if I have to pull out a project entirely. I don't even mind making the second sock, boring as it can be. Stitching them together isn't enough of a stitch to get me interested, and it takes soooo long! Good luck. Maybe you will like it more than I. :) Thanks for the lovely pics!
