Well, Hobby Lobby obviously yielded no exciting stories last night. Though they did have some decent Yarn Bee yarn (not the super fuzzy kind) on sale for $.99/skein. It was terribly tempting. I brought both of my Crochet Today magazines with me to the store and was desperately searching for a pattern that called for weight 5 yarn that I simply had to make, but truth be told there was no special pattern calling my name. So I couldn’t justify spending any money on that yarn just to have it, even if it was only 99 cents. Especially since I had just purchased that yarn from Tuesday Morning for no good reason other than it was cheap.
I guess that’s how we know I’m not a true yarn fanatic yet. I did purchase a pair of knitting needles (8mm) the other day. Just plain old steel ones from Walmart, but I’m sure they’ll do the job come March 17th when I receive my first knitting lesson! Hey, that will be St. Patrick’s Day, huh?! I’ll have to be sure a knit something green then.
Sadly Charles’ blanket hasn’t been worked on for a number of days. In the evenings I either find myself too tired or too busy. In a way I suppose that’s good. I can save if for my doctor’s appointment on Friday. It’s the 1 ½ hour long doctor appointment when they test for gestational diabetes – how fun. So I’ll take along my Lenten reading and Charles’ blanket, and I will entertain myself!
P.S. for Beth: As far as good yarn stores in Lafayette, not really. We have the standard: Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, Michael’s, and Walmart. There is a little shop on our Main St. downtown called River Knits. I haven’t been to see it yet though so I can’t comment whether or not it’s good. I have a feeling it is probably great but way out of my price range! I do intend to check it out soon though, as the stores in our little downtown seem to come and go fairly quickly – I want to see it before it leaves! It must be decent because it has a quote from Stephanie Pearl-McPhee in its front window! And you are more than welcome to knit a sweater vest for little Charles - but I'm not good enough to make anything for your Baby Girl yet - sigh! How about a holy hour for her?
P.P.S. Completely not yarn related, Beth, I did read both of those books (I think I read Dr. Bradley's twice), but Peter hasn't read them yet, and as you know so well that method is somewhat dependent on the husband!!! :o)

Ok I'm starting on his vest - well would you rather have a vest or a sweater? And a holy hour would be awesome!
Maybe I'll stop by River Knits if we come up for the Frassati conference this year. You'd be surprised - they have some pretty good deals sometimes at those stores. I like to shop the clearance racks. (Or ask for gift certificates for birthday/Christmas ;-)
