Knit-Out

My dear cousin just brought to my attention that I mentioned the Knit-Out(oops, I wrote it wrong before) without explaining what it was. I think I was assuming I had already blogged about it. Shame on me!

So here's the link:

The Knit- Out, of which there are apparently many at different locations and times, is taking place February 17 and 18 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN. It is totally free and there are no retailers, so it is unlikely that I will break my yarn purchasing commitment...unless of course we see a shop along the way. :) There are, however, free lessons, a fashion show, patterns, and inspirational ideas. Oh, and a knitting contest to see who can knit the fastest!

I found out about this in some knitting newsletter I get; I forget which now. I realized it would be the perfect thing to write about for part of my senior honors project. Plus I might be able to find a few men who knit for another article for my honors project. Not to mention it is going to be tons of fun. So I called my mother immediately and invited her to come with me! We are driving out Friday so we can spend Saturday at the Knit-Out and then drive home Saturday afternoon. It's a 5 1/2 hour drive, possibly more with my parents driving. Oh yeah, my dad is tagging along too, although I imagine he will spend most of the time at the rest of the mall!

One last thing I found a great website today with FABULOUS free patterns. Most free patterns aren't worth printing off, but I would pay for these. Check it out, there are knit and crochet patterns.
