I'm frustrated. I ran out of yarn for the shrug I am working on! I followed the pattern, used the exact same yarn the pattern called for, and checked my gauge. Why in the world isn't the three hanks they called for enough?! It must be an evil trick. The worst part is that I can't find any more of the yarn, let alone yarn with the same dye lot! I bought it on sale at Jo-Anns just a few weeks ago and now they aren't carrying it anymore. Michels doesn't have it either. My only hope is Hobby Lobby. Otherwise I have to order it on the internet, which means I will have to wait even longer to finish it. I am about 2 inches from the end of the back. Then I have to finish the other sleeve and the border. I'm guessing I need at least another three balls of yarn. :(
So I actually casted on another project. Why I am not finishing the pile of other projects I have on the needles, I don't know. I just really wanted to make this...maybe this one won't sit on the needles untouched for weeks! It is a vest from the Spring/Summer issue of Vogue Knitting, which I checked out from the library. The photo is of what I have so far. I mentioned this one in a previous post. It is made from Red Heart Luster Sheen, and you need a total of 5 skeins, making it a fairly cheap project. It is worked from one side to the other rather than bottom to top, which I haven't done before. I have shaped the armhole, one side of the neck, and I am starting on the other side of the neck now. I don't know if you can identify them in the picture, as the project is pretty bunched up on these small needles. I will put a picture up when I'm done.
Do the colors look a little to much like those plastic Easter eggs to anyone? I'm terrible with colors, and I'm getting the feeling it really shows in this project.
It's midterm week, and I must say I have gotten a lot of knitting done. I got so much homework done last week that I don't have so much to worry about this week. It was well worth the struggle last week. Thursday is that start of spring break!!! YAY!!!
