Yarn Magazines

I absolutely relish yarn and crochet/knitting magazines too. So, here is a great resource: Open Directory Project. To navigate your way to the appropriate websites and magazines, click on arts, then crafts, then your craft of choice. So far I have only visited the knitting link, but I imagine crochet is just as good.
Ok, I just checked the crochet list and unfortunately there isn't a magazine link that will take you to a list of all the crochet magazines, even though knitting does have one. However, I totally suggest browsing these websites! I had so much fun playing around here last night. I found a great new magazine called Knit.1 done by Vogue Knitting, which I really want a subscription too. I also enjoyed flipping through the personal sites. I warn you, though, that this is a really easy way to spend way too much time online! Just be aware. :)
While looking around last night I also found an article about shopping for yarn in Argentina. Their stores are very different. Apparently all the yarn is behind a counter and you wait about 15 minutes to get a chance to order what you want, but despite the impressive crowds that build in the store, when its your turn you get the clerk's sole attention, and they're really helpful. The article also had links to some Argentinian yarn stores with websites: Hila do sarpa and Dianzora.
I know I promised not to buy any yarn, but my friend who is fluent in Spanish is going to at least help me look around and check it out. It should be much cheaper yarn. Hopefully shipping doesn't make up the difference.
Another thing to note for anyone with manly men for boyfriends/husbands: the Do It Yourself network is holding a Super Knit Sunday on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 4. They ask that you knit or crochet a bunch of little squares that will later be sewn together for the Warm Up America Foundation. It airs 5-11 Eastern time. I will probably be watching the superbowl since the Bears are playing! Woo-hoo! Maybe I will knit something blue and orange! Anyway, here is a quick write up about it if you're interested: Super Knit Sunday. I don't even get this channel. :) But I sitll might send in some squares. Their shipping address is:
Warm Up America! Foundation
Department DIY Network
2500 Lowell Rd.
Ranlo, NC 28054
You can get instrutions for the square at the Super Knit Sunday Link or the Warm Up America link.
Happy Knitting/crochet!

If I have to wait until March for the new magazine, I'll simply die!!

On the other hand that would be just in time for our crafty weekend!
