Sorry to post again so soon, but I forgot to mention something extremely important. I have great news! For my senior honors project I am designing a knitting magazine! I am sooooo excited. I about cried when my advisor approved the idea. This blog was created because of my desire to write about knitting, and now I get to create a whole mag about it. I will be the primary writer, designer, photographer, and editor(besides my advisor). But I could definitely use some help.
My main story is going to be about male knitters and the social implications of knitting as a male. If anyone knows (or is) a male knitter please contact me! It would be such a huge help.
Also, and this especially goes for you, Anne, I would love some help with the content of the mag. If you would like to write something or send in pics, I would happily accept them. Anne, I was really wondering if you would like to review one of the fictional (or non-fiction too) books about knitting that you are reading? I wouldn't have to be long. Probably 200 words, which is like a paragraph. Anyway, reviews is going to be only one of the things I include, so I am really open to ideas!!!
Oh yeah, and I will be printing lots of copies for friends and family!

Okay first – that is so awesome about your senior project! What could be more perfect for you?! I’m so excited that your advisor approved it. And I loved to submit something! I think the book review is a good idea. Maybe I’ll submit a couple other articles too, and, of course, you could just use what you need! But I love it!!! And I definitely want one of the copies.
Second – Please tell me all the crochet and/or knitting magazines that you receive, just so I know.
Third – As far as knitting time goes, I can only console you by saying: you’re taking so many hours in order to graduate an entire year early (which is a HUGE accomplishment). Once you do graduate, assuming you get a regular 8-5 or 9-5 job, you will find that you have plenty of time for knitting. If you get home at 5:30, make and eat dinner, and do the dishes, it will still only be around 7:00. And I’m pretty sure you don’t go to bed at 7 (though I may occasionally try to). So in like 14 weeks or something, you’ll find plenty of time for knitting! Unfortunately that doesn’t help with your stress factor now – sigh! Use your weekend time well, I guess. Finish schoolwork and make sure to give yourself time to knit!!
Fourth – I’m so relieved to hear about the Yarn Bee in a way. I couldn’t find any of my stitches in two different foundation chains! In fact, I couldn’t even pull the chains back because they got all knotted up or something, so I ended up having to cut some off. I guess I’ll save it for knitting or pass it on you! What a bummer! Good thing it was only 99 cents.
Fifth – Please do save the scrap yarn for me! How exciting!
This is a long comment!
Yeah, some yarn is really funny like that. I had a fairly simple bouchle yarn that I needed to pull out once, but what happens when you can't see your stitches is that you end up knitting between that strands that are wrapped together to make the yarn. So you might get three of the four strands, which makes it all knotted and impossible to pull out. I made a whole hat out of the bouchle, but it turned out just a little big, so I tried to pull it out. Needless to say it was a disaster and I had to throw the whole thing out - tear!
