This blog is meant to be an opportunity for me to combine my writing skills with my passion for knitting. I hope that my readers find it to be unique, entertaining, and maybe even useful.

baby blanket
Anne, I was just wondering how that baby blanket is coming. Are you still planning on learning to knit when you come to visit? I can't wait!
The blanket continues to progress -though slowly. I did put a few more rows on last night...while Peter watched Harry Potter.
I am tentatively still planning on learning to knit when we come and visit. I have mixed feelings about it. I want to learn, but at the very same time there's a number of things that I'd like to start crocheting...
But I figure you can give me a lesson and I can knit for an hour or two to get it in my brain and then I can switch on and off from knitting to crocheting all weekend.
I need to get Knitting for Dummies from the library though...
Knitting is SO fun! And very addictive. I'd say it's my favorite now, although I still do like to crochet now and then. Like I crocheted Baby Girl the top of a little dress - that maybe she can wear to the ordination in June. I just have to get some material to make the skirt part - and sewing is NOT my thing. I'll have to ask my mom to help with that.
Anne is on the far left on the couch, and I am on the far right. Next to Anne is her sister Laura, then their mother Carol. My mother Ann is sitting in front.

In January 2005 I asked my boyfriend's grandmother to teach me how to knit. Ever since my passion for the art has surged.
Knitting is a great outlet for me. It helps relieve stress, which is rather ironic considering how frustrating some projects can be or how hard it can be to find the money to cover my yarn obsession. Even better - knitting provides a way to be creative. I always said that I had no creative skills. Eventually I found some in writing and singing, but neither compare to the way my creativity has blossomed with knitting. As a matter of fact, nothing feels more right to me than knitting, like it was what God meant me to be doing all along.

Learning should be fairly easy, and then you will be able to make anything, knit or crochet!
