Learning to Knit

Oh yay! I would love to teach you. It will be so great to have someone to talk to who also knits. You and my mom both crochet, making it difficult to chat about knitting.
So I would recommend a size 4 yarn, which is pretty much worsted weight. If you look on the label it should have a little picture of a skein of yarn with a number (1-6) on it. That is the size of the yarn. And generally for a size 4 you would use size 8 or 9 needles. I would recommed starting with a scarf personally, but if that sounds too boring maybe you could make a hat or purse. That's up to you and how confident you feel. For any of those projects you would just need straight needles. I can't wait!
Side note: I brought the yarn to start Charles's first hand knit gift to Tara's this weekend...and forgot the pattern. I'm retarded! Oh well, I guess I'll start Sunday.

Oh I can't wait to see Charles' sweater! This is terribly exciting! I can hardly wait!!

And I can't wait to learn how to knit either, especially because I'll have such a great support system!
